Research resultsThe Mobile Telecommunications and Health Research (MTHR) Programme Management Committee (PMC) has recently considered the desirability of free public access to published scientific papers based on the projects that it has funded. It has decided to adopt the policy now followed by many other funding bodies, of ensuring that all future publications arising from work commissioned by the Programme are freely available in their entirety to the general public. The PMC has written to researchers informing them of this policy, and intends to post all future publications produced under the programme on this website, or to provide a link to another site where they can be freely accessed. The PMC is also exploring the possibility of extending free access to existing publications that come from the Programme. The PMC has further decided that all research funded under the Programme should be published within 12 months of the final report being approved by the Chairman. Final reports will be published on this website after 12 months unless extenuating circumstances can be clearly demonstrated to the PMC by the researchers involved.
